We are joining forces within our community to start a food pantry at West Forsyth! We are interested in partnering with businesses around the West Community to ensure no student goes hungry. Please reach out if you can provide any of the following items on a regular basis or would like to make a donation so that we can purchase listed items. 

At West, we strive to be ICONic. When students display the following traits of an icon, we recognize these behaviors with hot dog lunches, ICON breakfasts, certificates, and other celebratory acts.

We are looking for business partners who would like to help us recognize these students throughout the year. We are looking for in-kind donations or financial donations to make this happen, in addition to opportunities for business partners to join in our celebrations with students. 

West Forsyth High School's Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) department invites local business partners and industry professionals to connect with students by sharing their professional journeys and expertise. Whether speaking during a single class period or leading sessions throughout the day, your insight can help students better understand the skills, education, and experiences needed to pursue a wide range of careers. Our students are eager to explore opportunities that match their passions and interests—and your expertise can open doors to their future.

By sharing your expertise and working alongside students, you can help bridge the gap between classroom learning and the skills needed in today’s workforce. These collaborations give students the chance to apply what they are learning in meaningful ways, while also exposing them to career opportunities in our community. Your involvement can inspire students to connect their passions with future career paths.

Each year in Forsyth County, several thousand high school juniors and seniors participate in community-led mock interviews through their third-year career pathway course or through their participation in Internship Forsyth. A mock interview provides students with a professional one-on-one opportunity to practice their interviewing and resume writing skills with a member of the business community. The experience also allows students immediate verbal and written feedback from the business community regarding their interview performance, resume, and professional dress. Thanks to support from the Forsyth County Chamber, the Rotary Clubs of Forsyth County, and other business/industry/community volunteers, all eight high schools participate in this meaningful experience.

Interested in volunteering? Our students are looking forward to this opportunity as they experience how to search, prepare, and apply for a job. We are searching for interviewers from the business community and would appreciate any help you can give us in finding qualified interviewers. Interviewers do not have to have interviewing experience, as we will make sure they are supported and have a script to follow. Please visit the sign-up links below!

A mentor is a caring adult who offers encouragement, guidance, and a positive example to help students grow and thrive. Mentors listen well, build trust, and support young people in developing their strengths.

How to Become a FCS Mentor: Becoming a mentor requires completing the FCS Mentor Application, attending a two-hour training session, and completing a background check. Training dates/times are listed within the FCS Mentor Application and a background check form will be provided at training.

Forsyth County Schools Mentoring Program follows the FCS school calendar and all mentors are asked to meet with their mentee for at least 30 minutes per week for the duration of the school year. If you have any questions, please email fcsmentoring@forsyth.k12.ga.us.
