Join the Car Line Volunteer Team!

We’re looking for wonderful parent volunteers to help during Friday morning car line duty at Haw Creek! Your support makes a huge difference in creating a safe, welcoming, and fun environment for our students as they arrive at school. What’s involved? Greeting students as they get out of cars, assisting as needed. Ensuring a safe, smooth flow to the car line smiling and having fun!

When?

We’re looking for volunteers on Fridays. The car line starts at 7:10. Please arrive at 7:00 am to sign in to the front office!

Why volunteer?

Be an important part of the school community. Help ensure every child has a safe and stress-free arrival. When a business hosts a spirit night for Haw Creek Elementary School, it partners with the school to create a special event where families, staff, and supporters are encouraged to visit the business on a designated date and time. In return, the business donates a portion of the evening’s sales—usually a percentage—back to Haw Creek Elementary. This is a fun and easy way for the school community to come together, support a local business, and raise funds for school programs, activities, or classroom needs. Everyone wins: the school benefits financially, the business gains customers, and families enjoy a night out while supporting their school.

Making copies, laminating, setting up resources for a science lab, or putting packets together for student crafts takes a lot of time! If you are interested in partnering with us to help make our teachers' weeks run more smoothly, please sign up as a volunteer and we will connect you with opportunities within our building. Seeking a specific classroom to support? Reach out to your room parent or teacher directly to let them know your availability to help. If you will be coming on campus to support, you will need to complete the Parent Volunteer Agreement. Thank you for your partnership!

A mentor is a caring adult who offers encouragement, guidance, and a positive example to help students grow and thrive. Mentors listen well, build trust, and support young people in developing their strengths.

How to Become a FCS Mentor: Becoming a mentor requires completing the FCS Mentor Application, attending a two-hour training session, and completing a background check. Training dates/times are listed within the FCS Mentor Application and a background check form will be provided at training.

Forsyth County Schools Mentoring Program follows the FCS school calendar and all mentors are asked to meet with their mentee for at least 30 minutes per week for the duration of the school year. If you have any questions, please email fcsmentoring@forsyth.k12.ga.us.

Our Counselors maintain a snack closet for students who may need a snack during the day. Please help support our students with individually packaged small  healthy non-refrigerated snacks (applesauce, pretzels, goldfish, or cheese crackers) to keep our kids fueled for the day. You can drop off snacks to our main office and let Mrs. Mary know that they are for counselors and our team will do the rest! Thank you for your support!
