Opportunities to Partner From: FCS Partner Connect

This opportunity is for: Little Mill Middle School. Volunteers will purchase and assemble gift baskets that will be raffled off at a family engagement event. All baskets can be dropped off for Whitney Strickland in the front office at Little Mill Middle School. Suggestions of items to put in the baskets: Classic board games (Uno, Connect 4, Trouble, etc.), puzzles, candy or snack packs, boxed candy, cozy blanket, gift cards, conversation starter cards (or DIY list), school supplies (pens, notebooks, markers), card games, planner or calendar, encouraging notes or motivational stickers, adult coloring books, wireless speakers, headphones, water bottles, fidgets, and craft kits.

LMMS has a dedicated Connections class to support the Construction Pathway that students can participate in at EFHS. This program provides valuable experiences for all students, especially those interested in a future career in the construction industry. Our program needs the support of our community through providing materials that our students can use to get hands-on experiences with construction. The following items are needed:

A mentor is a caring adult who offers encouragement, guidance, and a positive example to help students grow and thrive. Mentors listen well, build trust, and support young people in developing their strengths.

How to Become a FCS Mentor: Becoming a mentor requires completing the FCS Mentor Application, attending a two-hour training session, and completing a background check. Training dates/times are listed within the FCS Mentor Application and a background check form will be provided at training.

Forsyth County Schools Mentoring Program follows the FCS school calendar and all mentors are asked to meet with their mentee for at least 30 minutes per week for the duration of the school year. If you have any questions, please email fcsmentoring@forsyth.k12.ga.us.

LMMS counseling department is in need of 2 inch binders, pencils, dividers and individual snacks.  Our students often need additional school supplies and assistance learning organization skills.  We would appreciate any help providing these items to them.  We also provide snacks for students so they can feel and do their best.

Each month, we recognize students and staff members who actively exemplify our HERD (Honesty, Empathy, Respect, & Determination) values. These values guide our work in accomplishing our vision of a school where learners grow with curiosity, character, and confidence. Staff members nominate recipients, who are then recognized in front of their peers and on social media. Recipients receive a certificate recognizing why they were nominated and receive a small token of acknowledgement of exemplifying the HERD values. We are looking for local businesses to support recipients. Students typically receive a card for a small treat from a local business. Teachers typically receive a small gift card or item from a local business. We appreciation your consideration to support this important initiative at LMMS.

LMMS is committed to improving the educational experiences of our students through providing rich professional learning for our teachers and support staff. We have dedicated a space in our school to guide our work. We are seeking local businesses to support our professional learning space through providing drinks, snacks, and treats to our staff as they participate in a variety of professional learning opportunities.

LMMS has dedicated to becoming a PBIS school, a Positive Behavior Incentive School. We are currently in our second year of implementation and we are focusing on reinforcing our HERD values of honesty, empathy, respect, and determination. Recognizing positive behaviors plays a major role in the success of PBIS. We are seeking monetary donations to purchase supplies for recognition, as well as gift cards and retail merchandise for students and staff members.
