Opportunities to Partner From: FCS Partner Connect

Shiloh Point Elementary is looking for a veteran from our school community who would be willing to serve as a guest speaker at our Veterans Day Celebration. We are seeking someone who can share a brief 5–10 minute, student-friendly message with our kindergarten through fifth grade students about their military service, the importance of Veterans Day, and what it means to serve others. Our goal is to help students better understand the sacrifices veterans have made and the values of courage, leadership, perseverance, and love of country.

If you are a veteran and would be interested in speaking, or if you know someone who would be a great fit, we would love to hear from you. Your story can help inspire our students and make this celebration even more meaningful. Thank you for helping us honor and celebrate the men and women who have served our nation.

The PTO will be showering Shiloh Point staff with tasty treats each month to show appreciation for all they do for our children.

To keep the Treat Trolley stocked and ready, we’re asking for donations of individually wrapped snacks like chips, pretzels, cookies, trail mix, nuts, popcorn, crackers, full-size candy bars, and more!

Please drop off your donations at the school vestibule and label them “PTO Treat Trolley” or use this Amazon Link to order and have items delivered directly to the school.

We're excited to welcome volunteers into our school! Whether you are helping in the classroom, supporting special events, or assisting on field trips, your time and dedication make a meaningful difference for our students and staff. If you'd like to get involved at any point of the year, please complete this volunteer registration as your first step of the process. This will allow you to complete the volunteer agreement that is required for all volunteers who support students in our building.

Just 30 minutes a week can help a student feel supported, encouraged, and connected.

A mentor is a caring and supportive adult who encourages, guides, and inspires students as they grow and thrive. Mentors build meaningful connections by listening, offering encouragement, and helping young people recognize their strengths and build confidence.

You do not need to be an expert — simply being a consistent, positive presence can make a lasting impact.

The Forsyth County Schools Mentoring Program follows the FCS school calendar. Mentors are asked to meet with their mentee for at least 30 minutes each week throughout the school year.
