Just 30 minutes a week can help a student feel supported, encouraged, and connected. What is a Mentor?A mentor is a caring and supportive adult who encourages, guides, and inspires students as they grow and thrive. Mentors build meaningful connections by listening, offering encouragement, and helping young people recognize their strengths and build confidence. You do not need to be an expert — simply being a consistent, positive presence can make a lasting impact. What Mentors Do Meet with a student weekly during the school year Offer encouragement and support Build positive relationships Help students feel connected and valuedThe Forsyth County Schools Mentoring Program follows the FCS school calendar.
