LMMS attendance committee needs your support with school-wide initiatives to improve student attendance.  In October our attendance reward is a fall festival for the winning grade level.  We need help with donations of apple cider, apple slices, caramel sauce, water bottles, and popcorn.  We also need photo booth props such as bales of hay, pumpkins and photo props.  The food donation would need to serve approximately 300 students.  We would love volunteers to help serve the students as well.

LMMS counseling department is in need of 2 inch binders, pencils, dividers and individual snacks.  Our students often need additional school supplies and assistance learning organization skills.  We would appreciate any help providing these items to them.  We also provide snacks for students so they can feel and do their best.

A guest speaker is someone invited to share their knowledge, experiences, or expertise with students to enhance learning beyond the textbook. They often work in a specific profession or have a unique perspective related to the subject being taught. Guest speakers provide real-world insights, answer student questions, and help connect classroom lessons to practical applications. Their role is to engage students, inspire curiosity, and bring new energy and ideas into the classroom environment.

Colt Club ($500)

Our Counselors maintain a snack closet for students who may need a snack during the day. Please help support our students with individually packaged small  healthy non-refrigerated snacks (applesauce, pretzels, goldfish, or cheese crackers) to keep our kids fueled for the day. You can drop off snacks to our main office and let Mrs. Mary know that they are for counselors and our team will do the rest! Thank you for your support!

Surprise your child and sign up to be a Mystery Reader in Mrs. Coppolino's first grade classroom.  Books will be provided for you to read.  Arrive 5 minutes early to check in with Mrs. Cathy in the front office.

Each month, we recognize students and staff members who actively exemplify our HERD (Honesty, Empathy, Respect, & Determination) values. These values guide our work in accomplishing our vision of a school where learners grow with curiosity, character, and confidence. Staff members nominate recipients, who are then recognized in front of their peers and on social media. Recipients receive a certificate recognizing why they were nominated and receive a small token of acknowledgement of exemplifying the HERD values. We are looking for local businesses to support recipients. Students typically receive a card for a small treat from a local business. What This Is: A 30-minute, community-hosted session during Flex Time (Tuesday–Thursday) designed to teach practical life skills—like budgeting, communication, teamwork, wellness, or digital citizenship—in a fun, interactive way.

Why It Matters: Flex Time is built for enrichment—and your expertise can elevate it: Students practice real-world skills,   Schools build stronger community connections,   Your business gains visibility.

How It Works: Choose a Flex Time session slot (Tues–Thurs) and offer a hands-on, interactive lesson/activity aligned with life skills.   We will help advertise to students and families.

We are looking for volunteers to help monitor the children during lunch shifts.

Donate snacks for our academic competition teams: VEX, Battle of the Books, and Math Club. Students will enjoy these at competitions or after-school. 

Each year in Forsyth County, several thousand high school juniors and seniors participate in community-led mock interviews through their third-year career pathway course or through their participation in Internship Forsyth. A mock interview provides students with a professional one-on-one opportunity to practice their interviewing and resume writing skills with a member of the business community. The experience also allows students immediate verbal and written feedback from the business community regarding their interview performance, resume, and professional dress. Thanks to support from the Forsyth County Chamber, the Rotary Clubs of Forsyth County, and other business/industry/community volunteers, all eight high schools participate in this meaningful experience.

Interested in volunteering? Our students are looking forward to this opportunity as they experience how to search, prepare, and apply for a job. We are searching for interviewers from the business community and would appreciate any help you can give us in finding qualified interviewers. Interviewers do not have to have interviewing experience, as we will make sure they are supported and have a script to follow. Please visit the sign-up links below!
