Each year in Forsyth County, several thousand high school juniors and seniors participate in community-led mock interviews as part of their third-year career pathway course or through their involvement in Internship Forsyth. These mock interviews offer students a valuable, professional one-on-one opportunity to practice their interviewing and resume writing skills with members of the business community. During the sessions, students receive immediate verbal and written feedback on their interview performance, resumes, and professional dress.

Thanks to the generous support of the Forsyth County Chamber, the Rotary Clubs of Forsyth County, and numerous business, industry, and community volunteers, all eight high schools in the county are able to participate in this meaningful experience.

We are currently seeking volunteers from the business community to serve as interviewers. No prior interviewing experience is necessary, as comprehensive support and scripts will be provided. Each year in Forsyth County, several thousand high school juniors and seniors participate in community-led mock interviews through their third-year career pathway course or through their participation in Internship Forsyth. A mock interview provides students with a professional one-on-one opportunity to practice their interviewing and resume writing skills with a member of the business community. The experience also allows students immediate verbal and written feedback from the business community regarding their interview performance, resume, and professional dress. Thanks to support from the Forsyth County Chamber, the Rotary Clubs of Forsyth County, and other business/industry/community volunteers, all eight high schools participate in this meaningful experience.

Interested in volunteering? Our students are looking forward to this opportunity as they experience how to search, prepare, and apply for a job. We are searching for interviewers from the business community and would appreciate any help you can give us in finding qualified interviewers. Interviewers do not have to have interviewing experience, as we will make sure they are supported and have a script to follow.

The VEX Robotics Support Committee is a dedicated team of volunteers committed to enhancing the experience and success of our student robotics teams. This committee plays a vital role in the following areas:

Fundraising & Sponsorships: Organize and execute fundraising initiatives to support team expenses such as registration fees, travel, equipment, and materials. Seek sponsorships and community partnerships to ensure sustainable financial support.Practice Support: Assist the coach and mentor during student practices by helping with setup, supervision, and logistics. Volunteers may also help with documentation, inventory management, and ensuring students stay on task.
Event Coordination: Help plan and manage team participation in competitions and outreach events, including transportation, meals, and scheduling.Community Engagement: Promote the robotics program within the school and local community to build awareness and encourage involvement.

This committee is ideal for parents, guardians, and community members who are passionate about STEM education and eager to support students in a hands-on, meaningful way.
