Volunteer: FCS Lanier Regional Technology Competition

Judging Information

Role: Judges play a pivotal part in the competition, providing a great opportunity to speak with students and see their work.

Eligibility: FCS Employees, partners, and community members are eligible to serve. No specific technology experience is required. Judges will have the opportunity to choose a judging category.

Team Structure: Judges will work in teams of two or three colleagues for a collaborative environment.

Time Commitment: Arrival: 7:30 AM Finish: Most judges will finish by 2:00 PM

Perks: Judges will receive a continental breakfast, lunch, and a t-shirt.

Important Guidelines Conflict of Interest: Judges may not judge students who are family members or any students with whom a pre-existing relationship exists.

In addition, we are in need of resources to provide visual signage for positive peer interactions on the playground  and materials to support sensory opportunities for students. A mentor is a caring adult who offers encouragement, guidance, and a positive example to help students grow and thrive. Mentors listen well, build trust, and support young people in developing their strengths.

How to Become a FCS Mentor: Becoming a mentor requires completing the FCS Mentor Application, attending a two-hour training session, and completing a background check. Training dates/times are listed within the FCS Mentor Application and a background check form will be provided at training.

Forsyth County Schools Mentoring Program follows the FCS school calendar and all mentors are asked to meet with their mentee for at least 30 minutes per week for the duration of the school year. If you have any questions, please email fcsmentoring@forsyth.k12.ga.us.
