A mentor is a caring adult who offers encouragement, guidance, and a positive example to help students grow and thrive. Mentors listen well, build trust, and support young people in developing their strengths.

How to Become a FCS Mentor: Becoming a mentor requires completing the FCS Mentor Application, attending a two-hour training session, and completing a background check. Training dates/times are listed within the FCS Mentor Application and a background check form will be provided at training.

Forsyth County Schools Mentoring Program follows the FCS school calendar and all mentors are asked to meet with their mentee for at least 30 minutes per week for the duration of the school year. If you have any questions, please email fcsmentoring@forsyth.k12.ga.us.

Bring learning to life by opening your doors to our students! As a Career Adventure partner, you’ll host a behind-the-scenes field trip that shows how your workplace really runs. Students get to: Step into the day-to-day operations of local businesses and organizations Explore real-world career paths in healthcare, technology, hospitality, finance, the arts, and more Participate in hands-on activities — whether it’s testing equipment, creating a product, or shadowing a professional Connect classroom learning to future opportunities For businesses, this is a chance to: Inspire the next generation of workers and leaders Showcase your company’s role in the community Build relationships with students who may one day join your industry

Support our Specialized Instruction students by donating snacks for the Treat Trolley! Each week, students stock and deliver snacks to staff around the building. This activity allows them to practice essential life skills such as communication, organization, money handling, and customer service — while also showing appreciation to our teachers and staff.

What We Need: Individually wrapped snacks (chips, crackers, granola bars, cookies, etc.) Small drinks (juice boxes, water bottles, canned sodas),   Fun seasonal items (candy, gum, etc.)

Why It Matters: Your donation not only helps stock the Treat Trolley, but also allows our students to: Practice social and job skills in an authentic setting, Build confidence through real-world interactions, Experience the joy of giving back to their school community.

How to Help: Drop off donations at South Forsyth Middle School’s front office, labeled “Treat Trolley.” We will gratefully accept one-time or ongoing contributions!

Partner with South Forsyth Middle School by hosting a Spirit Night at your business! Spirit Nights bring together students, families, and staff in a fun and welcoming environment while raising funds to support school programs and activities. Your business chooses a date, welcomes our school community, and donates a portion of the evening’s sales back to SFMS. It’s an easy and impactful way to support education while showcasing your business to hundreds of local families.

What We Need From You:

What This Is: A 30-minute, community-hosted session during Flex Time (Tuesday–Thursday) designed to teach practical life skills—like budgeting, communication, teamwork, wellness, or digital citizenship—in a fun, interactive way.

Why It Matters: Flex Time is built for enrichment—and your expertise can elevate it: Students practice real-world skills,   Schools build stronger community connections,   Your business gains visibility.

How It Works: Choose a Flex Time session slot (Tues–Thurs) and offer a hands-on, interactive lesson/activity aligned with life skills.   We will help advertise to students and families.

Impact Connected to the Learner Profile: These sessions help students develop key learner traits—like collaboration, responsibility, adaptability, and critical thinking—directly reflecting FCS’s vision for empowered, capable learners.
