Who We Are
South Forsyth Middle School serves approximately 1220 students in grades 6–8 on Windermere Parkway in Cumming, Georgia. We are a learning community dedicated to embracing, empowering, and educating every student. Our students live by RISE — Responsibility, Integrity, Safety, and Empathy. Guided by the Forsyth County Schools Strategic Plan and Learner Profile, we work to keep every Eagle safe, connected, and thriving, and to prepare them for success in school, careers, and life. South Forsyth Middle feeds South Forsyth High School. The careers our students meet in seventh and eighth grade shape the pathways they choose in ninth. That makes middle school the earliest, and often the most decisive, point of contact between a young person and the working world. We welcome local businesses, professional associations, faith communities, civic organizations, and individual community members as partners.
What We Do
Partnering with SFMS takes many forms, and most of them cost nothing but time.
Share your work. Spend one class period telling students what you do and how you got there. We handle scheduling, space, and student prep.
Mentor a student. Consistent adult attention changes trajectories at this age more than at almost any other. Fund an experience. Sponsor a field trip, a bus, an assembly, or a grade-level project that would otherwise not happen.
Stock the RISE Store. Small prizes and supplies that reward students for doing the right thing.
Feed and celebrate our staff. Recognition events, appreciation breakfasts, and testing-week support.
Offer an educator discount. Free to you, meaningful to our team, and the easiest possible place to start.
What partnership looks like in practice: we'll ask what you can give — time, product, expertise, or funding — and match it to a real need. No partner is asked for more than they offered.
Getting started: respond to any opportunity below, or contact Samantha Bradley, Assistant Principal, at sbradley@forsyth.k12.ga.us or 770-888-3170.
Community partners entering the building complete a Volunteer Agreement; we'll walk you through it. Learn more about our school at https://sfms.forsyth.k12.ga.us/
